Old Business
Bullis Room - John Hamilton
Solar film was put on the windows of the Bullis Room on July 5. Newark Historical Society returned two books. The value of the collection has increased by $4887.06 due to repair to the books.
Hamilton would like to know if any of the Bullis family is still alive. Read reported that Jim Bush might be able to assist. June Hamell will try to contact him.
Friends of the MPL - Joan Handfield
The Friends continue to work on the quilt. The Harry Potter drawing is Saturday. Moore asked Hammond if there would be room in the Town Barns for books to be stored. No answer to this problem at this time.
CRMPL Committee- Bill Moore
$4,900 has been sent in response to the latest appeal. The committee is soliciting proposals for grants.
Other Business
Moore reported that winning the Literacy Grant will result in the MPL having to provide storage for materials, a learner/tutor room, and an hour a week of the director’s time for a meeting. This program will make it easy for people to become literacy tutors. The grand opening of the program will be in March or April 2009.
Read continued discussion of the BOT survey.
Read reported that Pat Stocker used a grant to create the long range goal document for the Palmyra library. Read will ask Stocker to attend a MPLBOT meeting to discuss a possible long range goal plan.
New Business
Moore reviewed the MPL data from the PLS 2007 packet. A budget meeting will follow the August 15 regular meeting of the BOT.
The next regular meeting of the BOT of the MPL is August 15, 2007, at the Macedon Town Hall Conference Room, Macedon, NY.
