Owwl2go
A new way for library patrons to enjoy audiobooks and eBooks
Last June, a survey ranked downloadable audiobooks and eBooks as the top new service requested by Pioneer Library System (PLS) patrons. You asked for it!
Owwl2go is a new service provided by PLS which allows patrons to download digital audiobooks and eBooks for listening and viewing on a personal computer. Audiobooks can also be transferred to compatible MP3 players or burned to a CD. Here’s how it works.
- You need a personal PC with internet access, and your library card and PIN.
- Log-on to Owwl2go page on the PLS website <http://owwl2go.owwl.org>, or click on the Owwl2go icon above.
- Search for titles in a variety of both fiction and non-fiction categories.
- Check out up to three titles at a time; at the end of the 14-day lending period, the audiobooks and eBooks selected will expire from your PC.
- The first time you ask to check out materials, you will be provided with instructions on how to download the free software you need from Owwl2go. Unfortunately, the iPod (and Mac) do not currently support the software for this program.
- The service is free, easy-to-use, with no late fees, and best of all, available anytime you have Internet access. Go to the PLS website to learn more about this service.
