Minutes - April 19, 2007

1). Present:  Klingler, Gabbert, Wint, Kenyon, Waterstraat, Moore, Handfield, Harbol, and Kingsley.
     Meeting called to order by Vice President Handfield at 1:06  p.m. 

2). Secretary’s report:  Minutes of  March 15, 2007 were approved as written.

3). Treasurer's Report:  See attached report for  March. General savings account:$1,260.32;  Friends checking account for eBay sales: $52.08;  CRMPL account: $1,041.02;  Petty cash: $72.16;  CRMPL petty cash: $11.00.

            Endowment Fund A - $53.032.00

            Endowment Fund B - $10,683.67

            Grant-making account - $1,471.01

4).  Announcements and updates:

n        Rundel sales - Moore's will be taking some new items to Rundel this month

n        Display cases - May - Helen Burgio will be doing lighthouses

                       June - Helen will be doing local historical documents

                       July - Joan Handfield will do dolphins if no other volunteers

                       August - maybe pitcher collections

                       September - Helen will have one room school house pictures

                       October - Linda Kingsley will be doing Warm Winter Project

Gabbert had suggested contacting the local schools to see if we can have some children display their collections.  Klingler notified Macedon Elementary School who said they would spread the word to the teachers.  Harbol suggested a sign be placed at the circ desk to see if any of the younger patrons might be interested.

n        eBay sales - nothing at this time

n        On-going sale - $68 this month

n        5-8 grade programming - no updates

n        CRMPL update - expecting a new deposit for the grant-making account in the range of $1,500-$1,600 soon. Discussion of brochure for the endowment and wills is tabled until next month.

5).  Old Business:

n         Big Book sale next week.  Discussion followed about staging of box pick-up and delivery, and volunteer sign ups.

n        Outreach - no outreach this month

n        History committee - ongoing

n        Programming - 5th-8th grade - Chess Club has ended due to too few people showing up.  Discussion followed about the possibility of offering some classes for this age group (or all age groups) during the summer children's program, and having the youth patrons sign up for this.

n        Rolling book case.  The book case has arrived and will be used initially in the big book sale, and then will be moved to the entrance of the library to hold free books and magazines.

n        Harry Potter drawing - the drawing for the new Harry Potter book will begin around June 21st and will end on the book release date of July 21st.

6.).  New Business:  No new business this month, just preparation for the book sale

7).  After meeting adjournment - we will be starting the quilting project

Next official meeting will be May 17, at 1:00 p.m.
